Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 April 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using DawgToolz ("the Service", "we", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service in full. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Description of service
DawgToolz provides a collection of free, browser-based utility tools. This includes PDF tools (sign, merge, split, compress, rotate, watermark, add page numbers, unlock, edit, and format conversion), image tools (format conversion, blur, SVG editing, colour palette extraction, HEIC/HEIF to PNG conversion), data conversion tools (CSV to JSON, Excel to JSON, XML to JSON), markdown tools (markdown to Excel, markdown to Notion, markdown to PDF, markdown table compactor), route planning tools (cycling and running GPX generation, GPX viewer), fitness calculators, and text utilities. The Service is provided free of charge and may be supported by advertising. We reserve the right to change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you.
3. No warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; (b) any results obtained from using the tools will be accurate, complete, or reliable; (c) any output files will be accepted by third-party systems, platforms, or legal authorities; (d) the Service will meet your specific requirements. You assume all risk associated with your use of the Service. Always verify important documents independently before relying on them.
4. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DAWGTOOLZ AND ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of data, files, or documents
- File corruption or unexpected processing output
- Loss of business, revenue, profits, or goodwill
- Inaccurate or incorrect processing results
- Service downtime or unavailability
- Damages resulting from reliance on the Service
- Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid to access the Service (which, for a free service, is zero). Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
5. User responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- All files you process through the Service
- Ensuring you have the legal right to process, convert, or modify any file
- Maintaining backups of your original files before processing
- Verifying that any output meets your requirements before use
- Ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws and regulations
You must not use the Service to process files you do not own or have explicit permission to process. You bear full responsibility for any copyright infringement, privacy violations, or other legal claims arising from your use of the Service.
6. File processing
Most tools on DawgToolz process files entirely within your browser. Files are loaded into your device's memory, processed locally using JavaScript, and are not transmitted to our servers.
The following tools are exceptions to this:
- HEIC to PNG - HEIC/HEIF image files are sent to our own server-side API for conversion. Files are processed in memory and immediately discarded. They are not stored, logged, or shared with any third party.
- Cycling Route GPX and Running Route GPX - GPS coordinate data is sent to third-party routing and elevation APIs to calculate routes. No personal files or identifiers are included in these requests.
We do not guarantee the integrity, accuracy, or completeness of any processed output. We make no commitment to retain any file data.
7. Electronic signatures
Signatures created using the Sign PDF tool are electronic signatures. Their legal validity depends on applicable local law and the context of use. Some documents may require wet ink signatures, notarisation, or qualified electronic signatures. We make no warranty as to the legal enforceability of any signature produced using the Service. Consult a qualified legal professional if you are unsure.
8. Fitness and health tools
The fitness tools on DawgToolz, including the Running Fuel Calculator and the Rave Hydration Calculator, are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute medical, nutritional, or health advice. Do not rely on output from these tools as a substitute for professional medical guidance. If you have any health concerns, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
9. Acceptable use
You must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. Prohibited activities include processing illegal content, automated abuse, scraping, and any activity that could harm the Service or other users.
10. Intellectual property
All content, branding, code, and tooling on DawgToolz is owned by or licensed to us. You retain full ownership of the files you process. By using the Service, you grant us no rights to your files or content.
11. Service availability
We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at any particular time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate the Service or any individual tool at any time, without notice and without liability. We are not responsible for any loss or inconvenience resulting from service interruptions.
12. Third-party services
The Service may interact with third-party APIs, such as elevation data providers and mapping services used by the route tools. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service. Third-party services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
13. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
